Klenztone 3 – Professional-Grade Cleaner for Terrazzo, Marble, Travertine & EIFS
KLENZTONE-3 Stone Cleaner for Terrazzo, Marble and Travertine Floors is used for cleaning drivet/efis, because this surface is soft & color is a factor powerwashing & acid cleaning are not options.
Klenztone 3 releases dirt & grime without discoloration or damage to the surface, and it can be rinsed with low pressure (200 psi), keeping the surface intact.
Klenztone 3 is also used to clean Terrazzo, Travertine & Marble floors that have become dull and dingy after years of stripping and resealing.
Why Pros Reach for Klenztone 3 First
Deep-Cleaning Chemistry with Zero Acids
Unlike etching acids that can “burn” polished marble or lighten terrazzo binders, Klenztone 3 dissolves grime through a proprietary alkaline detergent system. The stone’s micro-texture is opened just enough to release dirt but not enough to erode the face—ideal for maintenance cycles on historic or high-design floors.
Protects Natural Color & Finish
On soft EIFS/DRI-vit® claddings where pigment sits close to the surface, even low-percentage acids can streak or ghost. Klenztone 3 is color-neutral and can be rinsed with as little as 200 psi water pressure, so there is no danger of blasting off acrylic finish coats.
High Coverage Saves Labor Dollars
Field testing and decades of use show an average of 250–350 ft² per gallon, depending on porosity. One 4-gallon case routinely handles an 1,100 ft² lobby—or an entire residential foyer portfolio—without mid-job mixing or dilution guesswork.
Ready-to-Use & Autoscrubber-Friendly Rinse
Klenztone 3 ships undiluted and is applied straight from the container, eliminating proportioning errors. After dwell, the loosened slurry flushes easily with flood-rinse and wet vac—an autoscrubber may also be used for rinse passes even though product feed through the machine is not recommended.
Responsible Formula, Job-Site Safe
The concentrate releases no VOCs, is readily biodegradable and produces virtually no odor on a pre-clean substrate. Standard PPE (gloves & safety glasses) and ordinary ventilation are all that’s required for most projects.
Ideal Surfaces
Terrazzo Revival
Cream-matrix terrazzo dulls as sealers layer up and minute soils settle into binder pores. A single saturation with Klenztone 3 removes contaminants down to the binder, restoring the crisp aggregate look that prestige lobbies demand.
Marble & Travertine Restoration
Calcite-rich stones can etch or shadow when strong acids are used. Klenztone 3’s non-acidic action lets you deep-clean before honing or polishing, shortening the refinement cycle and safeguarding veins and fill.
EIFS / DRI-vit® & Lightweight Renders
Because polymer renders can tear under power-wash lances, Klenztone 3 paired with low-pressure rinse (≤ 200 psi) becomes the go-to solution for façade contracts on hotels, arenas and medical campuses.
Limestone & Other Carbonate Stone
Hand-dressed limestone, coquina and shell-stone patios pick up atmospheric grime and biological growth. Klenztone 3 lifts both without sacrificing the honed texture that designers specified.
How to Use Klenztone 3 on the Job
Step 1 – Perform a Patch Test
Before committing to production, mask a 2 ft × 2 ft zone representative of the worst contamination. Saturate and monitor dwell time to confirm soil release and surface compatibility.
Step 2 – Saturate the Surface
Pour Klenztone 3 directly onto the stone or EIFS and spread with a rayon mop or soft nylon broom until the area glistens uniformly. Do not dispense through an autoscrubber solution tank; the chemistry needs full strength for best results.
Step 3 – Allow Dwell Time
Referencing your patch test, allow the product to penetrate—typically 5–15 minutes. Re-mist any areas that begin to dry; active liquid must remain on the surface to keep the soil in suspension.
Step 4 – Flood Rinse & Recover
Using clean water, flood the floor or wall section and immediately pick up with a wet vacuum, squeegee-vac, or—where terrain allows—an autoscrubber in vacuum-only mode. Maintain low-pressure nozzles (≤ 200 psi) on façades.
Step 5 – Inspect, Neutralize & Seal
Dry a sample area with a cotton cloth to verify cleanliness. Because Klenztone 3 leaves the stone in a micro-abraded, “newly-ground” state, follow with a quality penetrating or topical sealer to enhance color and lock out future staining.

FAQs
Will it etch polished marble or terrazzo binders?
No. The formula is alkaline and free of mineral acids, so it will not chemically etch calcium-based stones. It does, however, leave a micro-abraded surface ideal for sealer acceptance or mechanical polishing.
Can I run it through my automatic scrubber?
Feeding concentrate through solution lines is not recommended—the chemistry needs full-strength contact to dissolve soils. Use the autoscrubber for rinse and recovery passes only.
How soon can I seal after cleaning?
Once the surface is bone-dry (usually the next day under normal ventilation), apply a compatible penetrating or topical sealer. Immediate sealing locks in the freshly cleaned appearance and minimizes rapid re-soiling.
Does it remove wax or acrylic finishes?
Yes. Klenztone 3 breaks down many synthetic floor polishes encountered on legacy terrazzo and travertine. Always test a panel first to gauge dwell and determine if mechanical agitation is required.
Pro Tips for Faster Turnaround
Work in Manageable Zones
A 150–200 ft² patch lets one technician mop, dwell and rinse without letting the solution dry, preserving chemistry and reducing tiger-striping.
Pair With Soft White Pads for Lift
On heavily impacted traffic lanes, a 175 rpm swing machine fitted with non-abrasive white pads agitates the film without scratching marble.
Final Damp Mop With Neutral Cleaner
After rinse, a quick pass with pH-neutral MB-1 Floor Amore removes any residual surfactant bloom and speeds dry-time prior to sealing.
